I used Amarok for Linux. Not sure how it is for OSX, though. It supports lots of codecs (FLAC was what mattered to me) and was decent library organization, but the built in tagging (particularly album art) was subpar. I have no experience with the other 2, but Cog looks to be very minimalistic (which can be a good or bad thing, depending), and Songbird looks to have a ton of features, but might end up being bloated and bogged down by all it's capable of. I may actually give Songbird a try...

When I had my MacBook, I used Songbird. It's quite user-friendly and has a ton of extensions, just like Firefox.

I've heard for OS X it works with Darwine or w/e, as for foobar with WINE in Linux I have no idea.

I'll give songbird a try. I don't use it since it doesnt support Windows 7, and foobar is amazing, but maybe it works well with OS X.

why you dont use iTunes
i tunes is best for audio

for video
movist and vlc pretty good
