OC or Oven?

Alright gents/ladies...I require your insight. Yesterday I finally got my dual crucial ballistix, and today or whenever I want to dive a lot deeper into OCing. I'm using the AI OC 10% on the asus board, just to see if anything happens. So far stock is working well but I'm not gonna push it. Very soon I'm getting a Zalman CNPS7700-Cu.

Before I do anything (red button) I just want to be sure on some stuff. Regarding the HTT...it needs to be near 1000mhz but shouldnt be 200x5. Does it have to be 250x4 or maybe 333x3? One goes up the other goes down, usually mult goes down cause of a lock? Another thing is timing. Does higher memory bandwidth mean better performance or just throughput. And does better timing just mean better response in games or apps?

Yeah I know lots of blah blah. I'm just worried about settings, making a bottleneck, or making a comfortable little fireplace on my desk. Anywho heres some CPUZ pics. Yeah I know clawhammer...I found out few HOURS later. It was a blind panic of a purchase. Does it look like it needs to have it a-- hauled?

EDIT: Sorry guys I just read this and man my English sucks.

There is not exact 4x 3x ...
4 x covers the varaiables of the CPU's HTT adjustments between 251-250 tp keep the RAM's HTT in check and between 800-1000
or 3x for 251-333.
A simular Asus MB FAQ that may help you
http://www.overclock.net/faqs/38169-...roduction.html

Higher band width and timings... a difficult concept.
Higher bandwith slower timings... Lower bandwidth faster timings...
The best is the highest speed with the lowest timings.

That Ballistix is good up to 2.8v. Thats where I have mine. My mobo won't let me go farther than that.

Right now just doing some trial and error with clockgen. Nothing drastic. Worst i can do is about 230mhz HTT with a 12x. Matter of fact im curious...what if i wanted it to stay at 2.4ghz, only that i would crank the HTT to 230-250, but drop the mult maybe 8.5-10. Wouldnt this benefit anyway or would this just be the throughput stuff?

EDIT: Matter of fact from those cpuz pics was I already 1:1 FSB-DRAM or something else? Yeah I'm not sure if I'm even seeing the target.

Dude I ask myself that too. It jumps every few seconds from 1.5, 1.584, 1.6. Its only every 3-5 seconds, not sporadic. And now with a 225HTT 12x mult. It jumps from 1.504, 1.52, 1.536......*** I put this one 1.55? I dunno if either cpuz or the bios HW monitor is faulty. When I get back I'm running MBM5

If you have some soldering/board working skills, try this: http://www.overclock.net/motherboard...ed-my-a8n.html

That PSU is messing crap up dude. If your voltage jumps that much, that's not a good thing. (it's no name, so that could be why it's doing that)
