Overclocking XFX 6800GT

Hi, being a noob at OCing, i wanted to ask you experts about some stuff i saw on 3D Mark's site. I got a 3dmark06 of 2313, Ive seen a few people with the same specs as i do, get all the way up to 2900. Only difference i can discern is that they have their 6800GT's core clocked at 11 MHz and Mem clock at 1147. Ive also seen some 3dmark06 scores at 2700 with their 6800GT Core at 400mhz and mem clock 1147.

My question is what does the core clock do on the Graphics card and how come these guys have it clocked at 11mhz when i seen some other guys have a core speed of 400mhz something. Whats with the incongruency?

My Specs:
AMD 64 3500+ (2210MHz)
1GB Corsair Twinxl Ram (2-2-2-5)
XFX Nvidia 6800GT (Core clock: 351, Memory clock: 1002) (81.98 Nvidia Drivers)
Asus A8n Deluxe Mobo
Air cooling

The 11MHz is probably wrong. My TI-84 Plus SE graphing calculator runs at 9MHz, lol... to overclock your card, I'd reccomend downloading Coolbits 2.0 off of the nVidia website. Then you go to Display>>Properties>>Settings>>Advanced>>6800GT, and there will be a "Clock Settings" Tab. Click "Auto Detect", wait for it to run, then check the "Apply at Startup" option, and hit okay.
