I was just wondering what is your normal temps with oc and/or without oc. just state what it is and i was mostly wondering about the 940 since my temps are like 62c at load currently with a zalman and what my max temp can be if i want to overclock. What is the max temp for a presler 940

The max temp you want is 65c topps, probably 24/7 usage under 60c.. Anything above that, your not doing your processor any good. I'm not quite shure what my processor runs at, waiting for my mobo RMA which is suppost to come tommrow.

I believe that, 65C is the general max recommended temp. for Prescott Cores, just as 55C is the general max recom. temp. for Northwood Cores.

But the thermal spec. provided by Intel is a more accurate because it specifies the max temp. for that Processor only.

Basically, 68.6C is the true max temp. Once your CPU goes above that, it will start to thermal throttle.

You could always download and run Throttle Watch, while running your CPU at max load to see if you are actually or when and what temperature your CPU starts to thermal throttling.
