Suggestions On New Ram Purchase

Thread Starter
I am fed up with the 2 stick limitation of my 754 setup. I am going to be buying a 1gig stick from newegg. Only problem is they have like, I dunno, 4000 to choose from. I am looking for a CAS latency of 2 at stock speed and stability up to DDR500 minimum, possibly farther. Thanks.

this should get 250+ @ 2.5-4-4-8 or better no 1gb stick will reach 250mhz at a 2

I think both those sticks use the same IC's Infineon B die so they should clock to about the same. some get to 350+ but most get stuck around 230 or so.

1gb sticks don't like to OC near as much as 512mb sticks do. your best bet is to get some DDR500. even though it will run DDR500 at 3-4-4-8 or so it should also run DDR400 at 2-3-3-5 or so

you won't be able to run dual channel with 1 1GB stick, so you'll be stuck at DDR200 - 250.
