I am putting the channel into the mid plate, this mid plate is soldered to the top plate at the moment. Once i have finished the channels i will the solder the mid plate onto the dimpled surface. The holes for the barbs will be put at either end of the S channel.

I am having some second thoughts on the channel, in a couple of areas the drill wandered and moved too far. I might cut out a new mid plate and wait until i get a proper mill bit. That would make it much cleaner and allow higher flow.

Water channel ideas.
I'm not happy with how the water channels are going so i have decided to scrap the idea. Instead i am going to scrap the current mid plate and make the current top plate the new mid plate.
I am going to then drill a hole in each corner of where the water channels will be and then instead of overlapping the holes i will use a hacksaw to cut out the straight sections. This should give me a much cleaner look and hopefully not take as much time.
I have all of next week off uni (study week) so i will be able to do some work during the week.

Water channel progression
I started my new technique of making the water channels today. So far i have separated the old mid plate from the top plate, and i have drilled out 4 of the 6 holes needed.
This shows the old mid plate and the solder side of the top plate, the top plate will now become the new mid plate.

My drilling rig.

After drilling each hole it became too hot to hold so i left it in some water for 2o seconds to let it cool down.

This is my progression so far, i have 4/6 holes drilled.

After all the holes are drilled i will use a junior hacksaw to cut between the holes to make the water channels.

OK just a couple of photos for you, i have completed the drilling of the mid plate, I just need to cut out the channel now.
I gave it a once over with the steel wool just to get rid of some of the grime and to show the natural colour of the copper.

Mid plate water channels almost complete.
OK i started using the hacksaw but i very quickly gave up on that and used the jigsaw instead. Things went very quickly and happily nothing went wrong. I finished the edges up with a file quickly before i took the photos.

I now need to cut off a small bit at the end of each inner wall to make the S channel.
