This is a rough estimate, but:

i7 920 $280
ASUS P6X58D $300
Blu-Ray $150
6GB G-Skill $140
1TB Western Digital Hard Drive $100
5870 $400
Antec 1200 $120
Corsair HX750w $150

It totals to about $1750. You could probably tweak it a little to save money.

You probably save a lot of money if you are planning to buy "used" on overclock.net

Will do. I think I am going to go with an i7 though, since I read that i9 will use 1366, so I can upgrade. Also, I might go a bit over the budget I stated in the thread...I'm getting hungry since I haven't bought computer parts in so long!

There is no more i9 anymore, the hexacores are still going in the i7 lineup, hence the i7 980x.

Well, if you can go over budget a bit, then by all means go for the i7 build.

Ah, thanks for that. Still think I'll stick with i7 though

I think this is some form of the final build I want. I realize I did not hold true to price/performance, but there were certain things I just "wanted". I initially didn't want an SSD, but I think I am going to go for it for the OS and a few programs. I'll probably pick up a Blu-Ray drive soon, a bit undecided. In general, I'd rather keep Blu-Rays to my TVs, but that might change.
