Build <No Pics, sorry>

Thread Starter
I'm helping out the Sunglass Pimp make his intel build.

The List

[X] - Asus P6T
[X] - Intel i7 930
[X] - Western Digital Caviar Black 1TB
[X] - Corsair 800D
[X] - Corsair H50
[X] - Corsair Dominator 2x3GB 1600MHz
[X] - Corsair 1000HX
[X] - LiteOn DVD-r/CD-R
[_] - Nvidia GTX480

I opened up his motherboard box, and it didn't come with motherboard standoffs!! What the heck? They came with CF/SLI bridges, but no stands offs? Now, before I get carried away.. I know Fry's sucks, because they open boxes and don't care about selling them to you that way. So it's either their fault, or Asus.. Who to blame?

If you check my avatar you can see I am new to building computers, and I would like to ask what to do properly on this build. I am going back tomorrow after he closes his sunglass shop, in Hollywood, and help him finish the build.

Is there any tips or things to check? I'm not really sure where some connectors go from the case and power supply. There are also two blue and white connectors with male ports that came with the motherboard (for sound and such). I don't know where these go

Standoffs usually come with the case, not the motherboard

All the information regarding the motherboard connections (Sound, Lights, USB Ports etc.) will be specific to the motherboard - but it will be detailed in the manual for the product.

Also, stand-offs come with the case normally.

You cant go wrong plugging the PSU in. You have the 24-pin motherboard power connection and an 8 or 4 pin CPU plug on the top left of the mobo. There are molex connections for fans and such, and some flatter looking versions of the molex with 5 wires going into them, which are for your HDs.

Generally if it doesn't fit, its the wrong plug

It really is that hard to go wrong.

The last part is the SATA cable right?

I took out his Corsair Dominators and all I kept saying is "These are sexy man." He's like, "What are you going to have sex with them" in a joking matter. All I could do is laugh and feel awkward I have a passion for computer hardware

EDIT: The P6T doesn't have this type of padding my Crosshair III Formula has in between the I/O plate and motherboard. Is this normal?
