thanks for the response, smitty. I didn't mean to completely jack this thread, but I can't seem to get 2 instances of prime95 running at the same time. I did figure out both through the task manager and the prime95 program itself how to set affinity, but I cannot run the program twice to stress both cpus. Although the default settings say that prime95 will run on both chips, and they both seem to be working. I ran it for two hours last night without a single problem. Please help an ignorant newbie.

actually I can't get 2 prime95's to run either so I start a prime95 and set it to cpu 0 then start OCCT and set it to cpu 1...that fully loads both processors

I wouldn't sy its stable in tell you run prime for at least 8 hours, over night its better, I had one fail on hour 20.

The way to get Prime95 on both cores is to have two copies of the program .Copy the original programd and paste it somewhere on your computer. then try and run both at the same time setting the diffrent affinitys. ( advanced-affinitys. Select either one or two depending on which one you have open)
