Sweet guide...very well done.

I'm a little confused. I'm new to high end graphics cards and have only been folding a month, so bare with me. I've been OCing the shader in my 9600GSO. I've used Riva Tuner and unlinked the shader from the core clock. As I've raised the shader clock GPU-Z has shown the same speed I've set in Riva. It's not making 54 MHz jumps.

The card runs fine otherwise? I can clock this baby even more with no problem in anything else. If only I could insure my components against failure.....

Thanks for posting this great guide REP+. I was always wondering why when I set the shader it went to a different speed.

Let me get it straight if I set the shader to anywhere between 1486-1539 the actual speed is 1512? Sorry if I am lost new to the shader strap thing myself. Or is it you set it between 1486-1539 and its in the 1512 strap but actually the speed you set it.

That's correct. If you set the shader to any number between 1486-1539, the actual speed would be 1512. The shader will only run at the strap speeds, nothing in between.
