what should my temps be???

Thread Starter
i have a visontek ati x550 what should the temp be??
i over clocked mem by 50% core by 25% eith stock cooling and no ram sinks

sometimes when i play a game there is no signal and i have to restart
post #2 of 16
The radeons run pretty hot at stock speeds anyway, so it's a pretty safe bet that If you are OCing it that much (nice clock btw ) you probably are running into an overheating situation.

There are some pretty good aftermarket coolers out there and ram sinks wouldn't hurt either.

This Zalman VF700CU comes complete with the ramsinks, it's also available at the Comp but you will pay more.

cool im going to apply as5 and i might buy water cooling
is it good ocing??
when i go farther i get artifacts im not good ocer im only 11

it's only good oc'ing if you don't damage your stuff,

so be careful and don't try and push it too much, until you are running cool temps,

else you could end up with a black screen for good.

and that's bad.

so watch your temps with the ati tool when you are testing for artifacts.

anything near 70C is getting in the danger zone.

I have that CPU cooler and it rocks!

it's a lot lighter than the older zalman coolers and works very well.

going H2O is going to be a big step and it is ultimately up to you,

I have been considering it myself and I probably will at some point.

even with water you aren't going to get below the ambient temperature but it does perform better.

you need to get something on that GPU tho.
