Budget TF2 pc

Thread Starter
Ok, my brother wants a pc that can play tf2 as well as some other games, like cod4. Nothing too demanding.

So I put this build together, some parts I am donating like the gfx card, ram, dvd reader and the monitor so those parts cannot be changed.

Here is what I want to build:

CPU: Athlon II x3 435 ($77)
Case: MS-TECH LC-09B ($34) Asus Vento TA-K11 ($25)
Mobo: ASRock A780LM-S ($50) Asus M4A78L-M (62$)
HDD: Seagate ST3250318AS ($37)
PSU: Trust 570W PSU Dual Fan ($40)
Total: 241 euros
==========
GFX: 8800gt
Ram: Corsair XMS2, DDR2, 2GB, 1066Mhz

I know the power supply seems very weak, but I am hard pressed to keep this under 200 euros, and I don't think tf2/cod 4 will use a 8800gt to it max potential so it might not even need that much power.

Anyway, can I have some comments/reccomendations?

thanks

I wouldn't go for an ASRock board in the EU myself, their warranty support is absolutely non-existent in the EU.
It would be nice to get a better PSU, ones bundled in cases are usually really low quality sadly, but if theres no room in the budget you will have to risk it

8800GT should be fine for TF2 and most other games depending on settings.

Looks good to me otherwise.

EDIT: Got a NL Parts retailer you would like to use? I'll have a looksie.

Yup other than changing m/b to a gigabyte or asus i would leave the rest. That cpu will be good for tf2 + some... i can run source games on my sig rig at between 100-160fps

I prefer azerty.nl (usually cheaper) but their AM2 mobo section seems to have been scrapped to make room for AM3, so I decided to use alternate.nl instead

ok, i put a new build up, let say the budget is $250 now.
I found a nice PSU, but dual fan, wth, it seems like the second fan will be blowing straight into the case, what an odd design.

Also, I read my CPU has a high chance of being able to unlock a fourth core, is this correct?

-edit-
Put a similar system together on pixmania.nl
Looks like the best choice of them all:
