BIOS/Video problems!

I am not really sure where to start....So I'll just get to it. I replaced my FX5700LE with a ATI Radeon 9800 Pro 128mb 256-bit AGP. As soon as I rebooted the POST screen was like you were seeing in widescreen with it black up top and on the bottom. The words were short and fat like they were stretched sideways. Windows loaded and same thing. My desktop was in widescreen. I installed drivers and the problem was fixed with the exception of my games appearing a little dark (almost unplayble in low lighting scenarios). I have the newest Catalyst drivers and can only overclock to about 400/730. Even tho windows video is fixed, my BIOS still appears widescreen.......not sure if this makes sense or not.....LOL.

Hmm try changing the AGP Aperture size to 256 in the bios but also check that the jumper on your g-card is set to PAL and not to NTSC or vice versa..give it ago.

Driver states that ntsc is selected.......My current AP size is 128. I should change it to 256? Could a corrupted card BIOS cause the funky display in POST?

So.......Should I flash the card with a BIOS from the web that was designed for this card? If so can you link me to the correct one? I have a ATI Radeon 9800 Pro 256-bit 128mb and a R350 core w/ hynix ram. There are so many different ones....I don't want to screw this card up.

I have a 128mb 256-bit card. The BIOS you linked is for a 256mb card.
