Kingston Hyper X

Thread Starter
I have been buying kingston ram for around two years now, and have yet to have a problem, but i always buy "value ram". again, never had problems. i have bought a stick of hyperX, but i sold it because i didn't have money at the time to finish that computer (was gonna be an athlon xp comp, glad i waited) i was just wondering if anybody has had good use of a hyper x or if i should go another route. any help at all would be great, thanks.

Let me just put it this way, DFI does not recommend the use of Kingston Memeory. DFI is probably the motherboard company held in the highest regard with overclockers. The best thing you could do it look at the motherboard you have or want to buy and see if they list or recommend the memory you are looking at. When it comes to overclocking the memory that comes up is OCZ, Geil, G-Skill, Mushkin and even Corsair. You usually will not hear too much about Kingston memory. I hope this helps you out. Check out Newegg.com and see what users think of the memory, in particular people that push it past the native frequency.

I've bought my fair share of Kingston RAM over the years and I've found that if I'm putting RAM in a system that will not be overclocked or used extensivly for gaming I always try to get Kingston... however, when it comes to Overclocking I've found OCZ to be my personal fav.

The premeir line is not ideal for overclocking, it is budget ocz with a heat spreader. You should look at the gold or platinum line if you want ocz for overclocking. The best bang for the buck right now it g-skill, unfortunately it is not available at TigerDirect, only available at Newegg. What are you looking for? 2x512MB; 2x1GB; 1x1GB; 1x512MB?? What is your price range? Decent set of OC Memory will set you back around $150 for 2x512MB.

Edit: These OCZ would be nice.
