Hadn't thought about it, but yes, that is SO true. Haven't seen a single Droid commercial that actually demos the product, it just tries to whiz-bang-wow people into believeing it's a high-tech product (which it is, of course) with laser visuals and a robot sound effect. But the iPhone and iPad commercials...well I know it's crazy, but they show the product, and talk about what it does. Nutso.

This is a plague in video games, too. In a 30-second video game spot, how much of the game do we get to see? If we're lucky, maybe five seconds of quick-edited video. The other 25 seconds are devoted to trying to be cute, or cool and edgy, or whatever. Dammit, show me the game you want me to buy!!!!!

Sadly, you're right. It's a shame but a lot of people tend to still buy off of solely advertisement's. Personally advertisement's don't dictate any of my purchases, I always do my homework before I fork out any cash.

They are useless because they are trendy?

Someone cares a little too much about what people think of them.

Being expensive doesn't make something useless, it just makes it expensive... I don't get that comment though because their portable devices are fairly price competitive.
