Hi cappy,

Ok I got it! Sorry for the confusion... Man I love those SMP folding clients!
Except for the other day, this will be my biggest point day of 2,464!
That's 6,359 for the week and I've got 4 days to go...

For this week, that is more points so far other than taeric, JeffMace and QMopar. I feel good getting that much work done in such a short period of time... I'm savoring the moment with you guys!!

And to think just last month when I was having all those problems, I was thinking of letting folding and Folders Inc go!! That would have been very dumb and a huge, huge mistake! Thanks for hanging in there with me!!
So believe me when I say, I know your pain right now.

All I can say is hang in there and Fold On! We'll get them next month...

LOL sorry for the massive attack of pictures. I got nowhere else to put so be in here...

So here's my way of installing Fedora Core 6, with all boot device set up, I process to the start up CD screen.

Hit Enter. It's now checking CPU and stuff.

Asks to test the CD, won't hurt, so OK.

After it's done hit Continue

You're see this, hit Next.

Here's the important part: In the Drop Down box, select Create Custom Layout. And only select the drive you wish to install linux on.
In the Hard Drives list, select your drive primary partition like seen in the pic, click Delete and delete it to create fresh image.
Then click ADD, now you're adding new partition on the hard drive. Type only the / for the mounting and give it some reasonable amount of space. I gave it 10GB.
Next you're setting your Bootloader GRUB, just leave it there, if you set everything fine last screen then you're pretty muc set.

Good luck!

Sorry guys, it turned into an all day deal.

Ok, this is what I get when I try to configure Custom Layout. I can't get past this point, it just gives me an error and reboots.

Oh hit Next. Don't need to go Advanced Config.

Hi shajbot,

Thanks for all of the pictures and screen shots. It's how I remember it except, the "custom partition" segment. I guess I went with the default settings. I also would have said no to the grub boot loader portion as well.

Everything else looks good to me. I'm glad I didn't have to go to those extra lengths to install Fedora 6.

Sorry compaddict, but I thought it would be easier for you. However, shajbot has a great mind for this stuff. His dedication is the best!

Hopefully it works out for you! I can't be of much help here.

Shajbot, maybe you should turn your pictures into a FAQ for Fedora 6. That is really good stuff... rep+ for you!

Take care guys, (Man I'm glad I'm on this team!) :-)

That seemed to do the trick so far, I got through it just like shajbot has it. Crossing my fingers now.

It's ok Buick, I'm sure it was my fault somehow. I formated it as FAT32 before trying this time. Now I only have a 20gig instead of an 80gig. Whatever works!

We will know pretty soon if it worked. Thanks again guys!

Nope, it did the same thing...comes up "grub>"

I don't get it!

Hmm...***.. do you have another hard drive to try? My WD80 gigs works right out of the junk. (the one I used to install FC6 on)

It said can't configure grub without any kernel packages. I'm going to try it again.
Make sure your distb is from this page (that's where I got mine)

http://redhat.download.fedoraproject.../6/x86_64/iso/

because I've never seen Kernek Package (KDE, sever...) prompt anywhere during installation.
