I'd say that's not bad, considering how little folding I did last weekend. I'll be really busy next week (even though I have vacation), so we should be able to get some points. I'll try not to use my system too much...

@ hvac - lol phase? You better off getting a whole new conroe rig, 4.00Ghz P4 ain't nothing.
Hi shajbot,

Ok, I'm back on line again... The cable network here in my local area has been up and down, for the past 10 days. It's effected everything from folding and E-mail to web surfing.

You did not tell me the deadline you have for your project, so I hope I'm not too late. Anyway, I'll send some photos I have, if you still need them. I'll also answer any questions you have about the life and times I remember living in Southern California in the mid to late 50's... I have better memories of the 60's, but that's another story.... he,he,he... When gas was cheap and cars were a way of life!

Just let me know. I'll check back here before I go to bed tonight, :-)

Yeah I still need them more than ever. The dead line is May 5 but I have to have the stuff ready before than so. As soon as possible. And you can give stuff from the 60's too, if that's fine, there isn't a whole lot different between them, is there. Thanks.

Sounds like the hard drive got overly corrupted or worse - the BIOS on your board. Do you have a spare drive laying around? It might be worth a try to see if installing on a different drive gets rid of the problems. Some viruses are nasty in that they corrupt your MBR and stay in there. BTW, the 2700+ is doing great. Just out of curiousity, what cooler were you running on it and with what board?

Yeah, I'll order a new cooler soon and see if I can boost it at all. I have no idea how high I'll be able to get. And don't worry, I'll try not to fry it .

Wow, I must say that I really like this new chip. When I'm not using my computer heavily, it flies through work units. At the beginning of the week I was at 295 I think, and now I'm at 275. A healthy jump. Still not where I was before I paused folding, though...

Hi Guys,

Just an update on my rig. I bought a 120mm Delta fan and a 80mm/120mm adapter from Sidewinder Computers last week. I put the adapter over the opening at the heatpipe fins location, and the 120mm fan is on the outside of the adapter at the back of the case. This fan puts out 220cfm, but it`s LOUD. For now, I`m putting up with the noise of full speed because it`s getting the job done cooling my rig, and with the cover on. Tomorrow I`m going to try to find a rheostat to control the speed. I don`t want to get a regular fan speed controller, because the only ones I`ve seen are for multiple fans. Plus, this fan pulls nearly 3 amps @ 12VDC. If the rheostat works and I can find a good balance of air movement versus noise, then I`ll begin OCing my chip. I`m not moving up that fast in rankings these days, but I`m still gaining slowly. I`ll probably do some more tweaks on the fan mod to see if I can wring more air across the heatpipe fins. I can actually feel air suck into the sides of my rig now.
