The interviewer actually admires me for my level of knowledge and background. Waited another 15 minutes. Saw some fine girls employees in the lobby. Of course, only rich and pretty people go to Target.
Manager Liz called up, asked me what do I wanna do? I said CART ATTENDANT. She said Why? I said, I needed an income, job to fill my summer. Then she closed my application and said, she can't let me get the job, since I need couple months to train and by then summer is over....And I can't work in school years cuz of massive booked schedule...sucky...I feel rejected...
That really tough! But it's a lesson learned. Take it from me, you can't be totally honest with your plans during an interview.
That last interview could have gone like this:
What would you like to do?
Anything. I'm a quick learner and will give anything a try. I love working working with with people and I shop here all the time. I want to give the customers the best service I can!
Great when can you start?
Anytime - depending on your schedule.
After you get hired then let them know that you do have a schedule and what days you can work. Never tell them that it's a short term deal, or that you only want the lowest job available... They can't and won't hire you.
There may be jobs though that only cater to the summer time or college type students. Try and find one of those...
BTW - Do not feel rejected! They did not reject you personally. They rejected your short term idea of employment.
I hope this helped, :-)
