Hey, we're probably one of the most chill teams on OCN. Yeah, it's been beautiful the past few days. High 70s and low 80s. However, last night we had a HUGE t-storm, and the temperature this morning is 55, and it's supposed to stay high 60s today.

Oh, and BTW, my dad just bought an off-air (antenna) receiver for HD, and so we now get an additional 13 channels and we won't have to pay $4 a month for our cable box (it can also accept cable and satellite). However, we don't have an HDTV, so we're just getting better sound (now we can watch PBS in Dolby D!). Only problem is that like 3 of those channels are the hi-def spanish channels.

Hey LBN,

<"we're probably one of the most chill teams on OCN">

What exactly does that mean?? I guess I'm showing my age, (sorry about that) but a chill team?? Are we cool? or something else?? Oh well, just had to ask...

It has been pretty nice here in Michigan as well. This is my one weekend off for the month. If the weather holds, the 1970 Buick Convertible is going outside to play! After a good breakfast for me, of course....

Take care and have a great weekend, :-)

Yes, it means we're cool, to simplify it . Also, we're laid back, not really being uptight about who's posting .

Also, sounds like a fun plan. I'm jamming with a friend this afternoon and then we're both heading over to our church choir's summer party at the local bowling alley.

Ok guys, I just got my..provisional license this morning. We went to a control driving and there were like 20 persons there already waiting to take the control driving test and yeah, I did it nicely but some girls couldn't have a good time easy enough. Met some "hot" girls, about to ask phone, and school, they already left. We did the Serpent thing, forward and backward,.. and drag, drift, burn out, donut, you name it NOT hahah, I wish.

So buick, you might wanna drive afar from my state lol. Jk, I'd probably be the one backing down if I see buick's. Heheh

Yeah, I get my learner's permit on Monday. After that, let's just say the local high school parking lot and I will become really good friends.

Hi shajbot,

Drive to New Mexico in my wife's Dodge Caravan or my Mercury Gran Marquis, Ok. Drive there in my Buick Convertible, uh - I don't think so. No cruise control, no multi-adjustable seats, no A/C, and only 17mpg on the highway. The Caravan gets 25mpg and the Merc about the same, and it's the cheaper gasoline as well (89 octane). The Buick has the original motor and requires 98 octane minimum (10.25 compression ratio with carb). So I put the high octane gas in it with lead additive to boost the octane up to 98 or so. It's an Ok car for cruising, but not for long hauls like to your place some 2,200 miles. I'll leave all the good looking girls for you to catch! he,he,he...

But I need to get back to New Mexico someday. I haven't been there in about 30 years. Last time was 1975! Oh well, I'm showing my age...

Take care and Drive well! :-)

Hi LBN.

Yeah the old school parking lot and perhaps the local shopping area at night were great places to practice parking, backing, stops and starts with a stick shift...

When I got good at slipping the clutch and burning rubber, my Dad said I was ready for the street drags.... I had a lot of fun with that old 1967 GTO!

Well take care, drive well and enjoy!!!

Man, sounds like a powerful engine. But then again, isn't tetra-ethyl lead illegal these days .

Actually, kinda on the same topic, according to my grandfather (who worked at Du Pont for years), there was one chemist at Du Pont that was responsible for both the idea of putting lead into gasoline and also using Teflon as a non-stick coating. One man responsible for most of the harmful emissions in the world...
