Hey cappy are you having the same electrical storms down South as I'm having up North?? The storms have knocked out my computer(s) 3 times today! I also lost power for 4 hours.. It sure screwed up my folding rigs...

Everthing seems to be in order now, just waiting for the next batch of storms to come across the Lake...

Take care, :-)

Battery back ups, at least if you home when it happens are the whip

Yeah, I have battery back up on 1 of my rigs, but the other 2 are sitting out cold and in the dark when it happens.
I'm retired now, so my wife says that the "fixed" income keeps me from any play toys :-( Little does she know what I can order on line... he,he,he..
Besides, I can pick up a "summer" job for the play money I need...

Take care, :-)

Hey Duke,

Speaking to your tag line of OCing and Classic cars..
Did you read or see this article: http://www.tomshardware.com/2006/05/..._41_ghz_cores/

Seems the boys over at Toms Hardware took a cheap cpu and got it to 4.0Ghz...

Take care, :-)

odd, i was looking at that today, and im thinking about buying that and some 90$ motherboard to go with it, be a nice buy to. No its just been raining all day, no storms... its not worth it if there iosnt any storms its just boring. Im not liking the cold weather either. Folding is finaly speeding up, with 593 points today, my main rig has done 2 today, and the 2700 one. Both only have 23 hours left for this one.

Can you think of a motherboard, for under $90 that would be able to hit 4GHz? with the 805 dual? If i got that, i would give my mom the 2700, and maybe you could stop the old 1600, and i could use both the cores on the new cpu, and use the 3500 as third rig?

Yeah, the 805 may be cheap, but seeing as it uses a Smithfield core, it's a bit slower than the Presler core chips. Seeing as those are pretty cheap these days and can hit well into the 4GHz range.

Hi cappy,

Is that the OCZ 3500 stuff?? Just wondering...

I've been watching our team and we seem to be doing Ok... In about 2 weeks, peroxide will go into the top 200 and I should get into the top 100... If all goes well.

This week is going to be slow.. I've got several large WU's working right now... I really dislike those 50,000 WU's.. Man they take sooo long and averaged out over 3 days or so, just doesn't help.. I'd rather be getting those p2504/2505's and 2095/2097's... Those go quick!

Take care and have a good week, :-)
