Hi shaj,

The XFX7950GX2 has been great!! I downloaded the latest drivers and I play my flight sims combat games at 1600x1200 with no problems, lock ups or artifacts. It's absolutely wonderful.... And I don't get random BSOD's telling me that the ATIDVAG or ATIDV3 or something like that -"performed an illegal operation" or caused Windows XP to recover from a serious error when viewing simple web sites.

Not one problem since the install... I love that!

Take care, :-)

I think Nvidia is the way to go as well I love my 8800GTX.

I think your going to like your new Q6600... Mine runs great at 3Ghz....

Check this out The July 2007 Best New Folder Prize Winner is ReCoiL!

Folding on hand My PS3 is pumping them out. I'm racking up the points.

Let me know if you need some help getting any rigs up and running!

Peace out all!

Hi ReCoil,

I will be asking help from you since you offered. I will set it up with Fedora 6, a P5B M/B and some Corsair ran, the 6400 C4 stuff....

I could run Ubuntu as well. But that is another language I'll have to learn. My real concern is whether the Fedora 6 will have the drivers and needed "knowledge" of the Quad... I have yet to learn how to load drivers in Fedora... Ubuntu would be a whole other issue. I will not run anything else on the computer. Just the operating system, and FAH. No A/V, fancy video card, nothing. Just a folding rig with a Quad at its core...

If you have any suggestions, just let me know. I probably will not run Virtual Machine, since it seems hard to do, or maintain.

Take care and Thanks! :-)

SUSE 10.2 runs great with quads, or at least it gets along well with my Xeon.

Hey taeric,

Did you have an FAQ about that?? I remember you having trouble at first, but figured it out pronto...

I need to read some more...

I just really needed to open my eyes and select the option that was right in front of me. Thankfully some folks here steered me in the right direction. Other than the JMicron driver issue (not really an issue at all - it takes about 15 seconds to manually load the driver), everything has gone flawlessly with that OS on two systems.

Knitelife tried a bunch of different distros, and he concluded that they all performed pretty much the same. I'm sure his tests were all on his quads, so personal preference is probably the most important thing.

Hi ReCoil,

I'll have to check that out.... Fedora 7, that is.

Looks like LBN's computer has gone down during his vacation. I think he'll be back this week though!

Take care and Thanks for the reminder, :-)

Hi ReCoil,

I did check out Fedora 7. Sent an E-mail to them asking if all the drivers and system setup comes with their OS DVD disk for a Quad on an ASUS P5B motherboard. I'm waiting for their reply....

If not I may go Ubuntu or SUSE 10.2....

Take care and Thanks again, :-)
