Yeah so as parent, do you look for anything in a good bf or as you said, just let the kids be as natural?
Hi shaj,

You win the prize! 2,500th post! Congrats

As for the boyfriend... I guess I look for the "intention". Meaning, what does he "really" want. Obviously he needs to treat my daughter right, show respect, and she needs to like him as well. But I was a dating young man as well, so I know what might be on his mind. Does he present himself well?? Dirty clothes, vans or motorcycles, tattoos, or piercings, foul language, etc. This type of behavior shows me and everybody else that he's trying to be a bad apple or rebelling or trying to make a statement...

Are his intentions honorable?? To take her places and have pleasant times at the movies, eating out, going to plays, school events, etc. Or is she going to be a "notch" on his belt?? Is he after her "body", and then will leave and go to some one else?? This is what I mean by intentions.

Based on what I know about you. I would think your intentions are good and honorable. To have pleasant times... I've never met you, but your posts here and in other communications I've had with you tells me you are a "nice" guy. Please take that statement correctly. Being a "nice" guy, will sometimes out you at odds with others in your age group, and I don't want to do that. But allowing you to date my daughter, would be Ok. Besides... The time I have influence on those decisions are very short. In today's world after 18, young adults are on their collective own, so to speak. My influence from 15 to 18 is all there is... and that is more of a mentoring/coaching role. Not a telling or do as I say role... Those days of telling were over at about 13 or 14...

I hope this all helped, :-)

Hi LBN,

Spring rehearsal.. That sounds like some fun..

As for the 455 (532cid) motor. Yeah it's a lot of horsepower and braggin' rights. With the right tranny, gearing and suspension set up, she be an 11 second car in the quarter mile. Fastest I've ever owned. But at 7-8mpg it would be a chore keeping it running on the streets. I'd be filling her up every 125miles or so. And at $4.00 per gallon gasoline, not much fun... But it's fun to dream! I might buy something like that someday, and just run it on sunny days here in Michigan. Lord knows we don't get to many of those.

Take care and fun at rehearsals, :-)

BTW - Shaj beat you to the 2500th post!
Yeah, I noticed Shaj beat me to it . But I'm sure I'll be there for 3000...

And Peroxide, we miss you too!

Sweet, my dad's job at Best Buy isn't so bad after all... He managed to snag me an AGP 2600XT 512 for $30. Should blow my current card out of the water . Not to mention I should be able to get GPU folding going.
Well, it was a pain in the ass to install, but this new card is smoking! I was able to crank settings up to max in AOE III and it still gets nice FPS.
That's very nice LBN. It's not a bad card at all.

Weeell, GPU folding is a no at the moment. Maybe Stanford will support the 2000 cards eventually...
