Hi cappy,

So your still running the celeron and the 3500? Wow.. Your point total is awesome!! shajbot has been doing great as well.. And peroxide has been pulling his weight as well.

I think LBN will be proud of his team! If we keep this up, according to the web site by February of 2007 (1 year anniversary) you, peroxide and myself will be in the top 100 of overclock.net.. shjabot will be 124th!!! And Team Folders will be in the top 200!! Imagine that...

Take care, :-)

W00t, we're 2nd place this week!!! Yeah, although it's only on this week, that is actually a great achievement, took the effort of the entire team though. Good job all and hopefully we can keep this (or even higher LOL ).

I'm actually very impressed with the fold-ability of those AMD cpus. I mean my 2.4C (overclocked to 3.2Ghz) can't not keep up with the 3800+ (non-overclocked, at 2.4Ghz) . And buick is gonna have his 3500+ overclocked to somewhere similar to cappy 3500+ at 2.7Ghz. Those are/will be hell of a folder. Man I wish I can overclock this 3800 .....

Anyhow, I was able to re-wire the speakers and it's working fine now. I opened up the other speaker inside to see which lead is to connect to what and I just did the same to the wire and it actually works lol. But still, I'm very affaird of the bad wiring job. The loose leads are knotted using square knot and taped by electrical tape (black). So there is only 1 wall of tape between the two polarities...Anyway, I gave it to my dad because his computer doesn't have speakers yet. Hopefully it doesn't short out and burn down the house lol. The adapter rate 12V and 1A so if the current is higher than that, would the adapter fling out like before. Man I have to make sure because otherwise I'm gonna have to open up that cut and rewire it, and make very very sure that it will not short.

OK, hopefully everything's gonna be ok, congrat on our team again, take care and fold it.

Hi LBN et all,

Well it's been a good and bad couple of days. That's why I have not been here. First the bad:
Lost a WU yesterday due to power bumps and outages, grrrr! And Stanford keeps trying to give me 20,000 frame Gromacs. I'm not at this point accepting them. The Gromacs seem to be to un-stable on my rigs and take 3.5 - 4 days each... So I use my new tact and get 7a, Amber, DGromacs, GBGromacs and Tinkers. They seem to run just fine and my rigs can complete them in 24-30 hours, which is great.

Good news: I receive the 3500+ and M/B yesterday. Put it all together and I'm now waiting on the Linux OS. If it does not come tomorrow, Win XP goes in!

I had one heck of a time getting the new rig to run. Seems the motherboard has a loose connection at the point where the mouse and keyboard plug in. You have to put pressure on it when it starts up or restarts. I don't feel like RMAing the board back to Newegg though... I want it folding. Once it's up and running it's OK. But trying to figure out why it would not run or reboot normally was really frustrating... Tried different psu's, hard drives, memory, etc. I even took it down to just the bare essentials and out of the case looking for shorts. Finally, by accident I was pressing on the mouse and keyboard plugins and like magic the computer started going... Whew!

Anyway, I should have it up and going with an OS, and folding tomorrow with any luck!

Take care and stay cool, :-)

W00t, I'm glad that you did and got it running. It'll be one big improvement for us.

Hi Guys,

Yeap the 3500+ is up and running... Found the motherbaord (Gigabyte) or cpu to be un-stable above 220 fsb or cpu at 2.420Ghz. Ouch!! I pulled it back to 215 fsb or 2.365Ghz and it seems to run just fine. BTW - The temps never got over 50degC with the stock cooler, so I don't know if that was the problem or not. I read that these cpu's should not be run over 65degC at any time. So maybe I hit the wall... cappy, can you shed some light??

Any way the completion of WU's seems to be about 150% faster than my P4 3.2C oc'd to 3.44Ghz... That's really amazing!

On a side note and for future reference for you guys and the forum if you see this type of post. My bother was messing around with the clock in the task bar. He inadvertently left it on July 20th 2005!! The WU shutdown after 18 hours of work and uploaded the in-complete results due to time frame/deadline being surpassed!!! I lost another WU worth 226 points!! I was and still am really upset/angry...

The solution to the problem if you didn't already know is this: In the dialog box for configure - there is a tab for "advance". At the bottom of this dialog box, is a little box called "deadlines". If you check that, then the deadlines and time limits are ignored. It also states that this can be checked if the system clock has been reset. So if you change the system clock, change out the battery on the motherboard or have a program that updates that clock via the internet, make sure this box is checked. Otherwise you too could loose a WU because of the time deadline not being met.

Just a friendly reminder, :-)

BTW - I should hit around 3,000 points this week, even with all of the lost WU's (2). And Team_Folders_Inc should pass LBN in about 2 weeks.... I'll write him then. lol

Oh ok, buick, thanks for the tip. I had came accross that option many times but didn't really know it refers to system clock not system clock speed or stuff like that.

Anyhow, it continues getting really hot lately, 3800+ on stock reaches over 51C. Maybe it's because the crappy HSF but it shouldn't slow down a bit.

Glad to see everyone cruising along very well. Take care and keep up that att'.

EDIT: I also have put my Intel overclocked to 3.2Ghz back on the line now. It's now folding for Team_Folders_Inc 14/24.

Ok, just dusted out the zalman700b and temp down by 1C. That really ain't big but definitely help keep the CPU under 50C. We've been seeing some improvement in weather, hopefully it rains down sometimes cool this town off lol. Been too hot lately.

Early this morning, we (me and my friend) went out looking for a place to print something on a piece of fabric for us camp. We drove around town several times and arrived in couple places, but none can do what we want. Quality Print told us they can only make minimum of 140 prints job..., T-shirt Plus is told to be closed down a month ago, ... I'll be picking up some transfer paper Avery at Walmart and see if ironing work. I've heard they give quite poor image but, well if we don't find any print shop, we will have to do this eventually.

Ok, the folding rigs' been picking up some good 120pts, 500pts lately, should be all done in a day. 240 pts for Team_Folders_Inc.

Take care and have a good weekend.

Hi shajbot,

Have a great weekend yourself!!! I hope you and your friends get the printing thing figured out...

And Thanks for adding points to Team_Folders_Inc. !!! That team is moving up the ranks rather well, I'd say. As I stated early, it will pass LBN shortly... lol

It has cooled off a little here Michigan. It has been un-seasonably hot here over the past several weeks... Some storm fronts have been rolling through, so the humidity is up as well. Ouch!

Just an FYI - I've gone back to work. So my posting and visits here will be dependent on my work schedule. Don't worry though, I'll keep folding and visit everyday - even if it's at 2am!

Take care, :-)
