i to check them out but they only have 2 items so far and not what we are looking for right now.

I got the Accelero Xtreme 5870. I tested it against a stock cooler and it manages 10-20c lower.

Seems to be a higher quality product than the twin turbo. From that video the twin turbo doesn't look like a very well thought out product, not to mention with the VRMs that don't have any heatsink.

Only 10-20C difference? Kcuestag noticed a 40C drop using the 5970 version.
If so it doesn't worth the price difference between it and the zalman I suppose.

Right, I've got the accelero xtreme 5870 sitting right next to my sapphire 5870. Problem? That one of the screws holding down the stock cooler is so tight that I almost broke the screw trying to get it off. It's the screw between the dvi ports and the pci connector. Anyone else had this problem, and if so a solution?

Are you talking about that tiny screw? I also had this problem, so I unscrewed all the others and added pressure on the card's casing(the black one) until it broke(the screw). Hope that doesn't void the warranty but that's how I did it. It only broke half way but you can remove the casing after that.

Screw that screw!

Yeah that one, I ended up breaking it aswell .

It didn't really go to my plan while installing the cooler itself either, one of the VRM cooler heatsinks was missing half of it's thermal pads . I ended up taking the one from the stock one to replace it. Other than that I had no problems.

My ambient is roughly 27-28c and I'm currently idling at 32c core and all VRM's at 38c. Will do some benchmarks later today

Edit:

Okay, here are some temps I got

MSI Kombustor for 15 minutes :

39c Core
VRM Phase 1-3 57c
VRM Phase 4 53c

Furmark for 15 minutes :

43c Core
VRM Phase 1-3 78c
VRM Phase 4 75c

1680x1050 Default stability settings for all tests.

Personally I'm pretty impressed with the results, I was expecting near 100c temps from furmark but they didn't even get close to that! Now consider that I can't even hear this thing at 100% speed and I'm getting better furmark core temps than I used to idle on the stock cooler... It's pretty amazing. Well worth the money I spent on it, however just a bit tricky to install

Pretty nice results, could you also post the same when the card is max-overclocked?

I didn't really test long enough. Idling now the stock is at 42C and the Accelero is at 36C. I've seen the stock one reach 80-85 and haven't seen the Accelero reach 60 yet. Though, I'll let you know later.

"One of the VRM cooler heatsinks?" There's only one, the other two are RAM heatsinks. And the RAM heatsink that is slanted covers a single VRM. If you are talking about the one side with that sticky thermal pad and the other with a shiny surface then it's meant to be like that.
