It means that the cooler takes up the space another slot has to use.

so in other words, its a huge card and its cooling system is just made bigger for a more effecient cooling attachment? So in definition if you have a SLI board like mine, the two slots are approx. 2 or 3 inches awaym this card would block the other slot and prevent the area for another card to attain sli?

I've seen benches where on the same system x1900xt and x1900cf CrossFire (x1900xt, not xtx but xtx is only 25MHz faster....) scored 13,501 and 7900GTX scored 13,000. In clarification, 2 x1900's scored 501 points ahead of 1 7900GTX.....so believe what you will, I sure HOPE this is true.

Well theres no way they could have benched it cause the article on the G71 scoring 13,000 was released in early January and the G71 wasnt even taped out til mid Jan.
Very nice!

its prolly an assumption comparing the blueprints of the 79GTX chip to the ATi's , like pixel pipes and core speed, but now they downgraded to 24ppl instead of the suppose-sid 32. so generally its suppose to be lower then all the theoreological(sp?) scores. but who knows.

Hmm this makes alot of sense, and I failed to realize that it hadnt been taped out yet (I was under the impression that G71 was "ready to go whenever R580 came out" but I guess thats no longer true) reps for your u.c.i.n.e.x.

Ya I thought it had been taped out too but I was surprised when it hadnt. Maybe nVidia was waiting to see what ATI had before they made their chip.
