Thanks for the advice if I run out of spray cans, I will, but as of now I have extras. I got them pretty cheap too, like 2 bucks a can.

Anyhoo, my H50 is installed, getting load temps of about 58-60 on load? I had to reseat because I couldn't get installation right the first time... Should I wait till the IC7 cures to overclock or should I start now?

It's only supposed to have a 2 hour curing time so turn on LinX for 3 hours and walk away. But your temps seem super high for stock temps....maybe try a BIOS update and then a reseat.

Shhh hahahaha yes I riveted the back upside down... and then I was like

I ended up using about 2.5 cans of black, kinda used a lot of spraypaint

EDIT: Should I switch my fans to intake rather than exhaust on the H50?

I just reseated the H50, I think my BIOS is at it's latest: 0108 for a P6X58D-E?

Here's what last time's thermal paste looks like - too much, too little?

I don't know I've never used it, but I would like to mention that I've had great luck with both my i7 boxes with intake push/pull H50's globbing on MX3 like it's not 19.99 a tube. Just two cents from some guy, nice work all around, by the by.

Maybe just a bit more

When you put on the H50, does it tell you how much pressure to screw it down? I've never used one so not really sure about mounting it. As far as intake or exhaust, I have read that Corsair wants you to mount it on the rear of your case as an intake which doesn't make sense to me considering the way the airflow is made inside the case with the rear and top being exhaust and side/front being intake. So...try it both ways.

Are you using Push/Pull through the Radiator? Also, if you have a spare high performance 120mm fan, replace the stock Corsair one. I know that generally helps out a bit on temps according to the reviews.

I'm push/pulling with 2 gentle typhoon 1850's. My stock Corsair fan is...somewhere in the house haha. It just tells me to screw it down until the screws cant be tightened anymore, which is what I did. I reseated it 2 more times cuz my temps still hover around 60C, with no avail. I will try intake later, but I'll have to switch my...front fan to exhaust I guess?

Alright, my H50 issues aside, I've began to overclock my 920. So far, I'm 3 and a half hours into my prime95 test.

BCLK: 196
CPU Multiplier: 21x
Core speed: 4.116GHz

Vcore: 1.31250V (1.296V in CPUZ)
DRAM Voltage: 1.66V
QPI/DRAM Core volt: 1.33750V

Max temps: 85/84/82/81 (Mostly 83/82/80/79)

This okay so far? This passed LinX at 20 passes with 21k problem size. Are temps a little high to be running a 24hour stress test?
Also, is there any way to tweak some settings to try to lower the vcore? >.<

Wow those temps are high...they seem really really high...let me check something

Meh I guess my lack of Intel Overclocking is catching up to me

Here's a review at 3.5Ghz from Legit Reviews

There's a bunch more but apparently if you turn HT off, your temps will drop quite a bit but with HT on, those temps are normal.
