Best SLi motherboard for LGA 775?

Thread Starter
HI,
I'm looking to upgrade to sli, but i wanted to know what you guys thought was the best sli mobo for 775 out at the moment or one thats coming out very soon?
I'd prefer to stick with asus but not set on it, not really any price limits as mobos aren't that expensive.
Ideas welcome Thanks, Dan.

hmm lets see... asus... asus...
i realy liked the Asus P5N32-SLI Deluxe... two full x16 PCI-Express... Auto Switch... Great OC features...
but i would also like see the GIGABYTE 8N-SLI Quad Royal in action... because it looks realy but realy cool! and nobodys buying it...
just for you to know... GIGABYTE = bad OC so if you decide to get the GIGABYTE mobo good for you but dont expect to get good OC... evan the GIGABYTE G1 (best GIGABYTE mobo for OC) cant OC in high pref... if you want to OC get the Asus...

Seems like there are a lot of problems with that board, but also a lot of people that had little or no troubles.....

Reviews

There are definatly a lot of complaints though..........I think they are still working the bugs out of SLI on Intel chipsets.

You could cover your bases, the P5WD2 runs 2 cards slightly slower than a full SLI bridge.......better than 1 card only, and it works........

Course, you can always try the SLI board, if it doesn't work at least you can return it to Newegg easily....

i just want to say something... SLi and Intel is not a good mix up... the best Intel mobos are 1 slot or evan got CrossFire support... so think about it... AMD is great with SLi! great mobos... for example the lan party mobos!

using the p5n32sli deluxe. let me tell you that it still got problems. sli, ocing and the 65nm chips. i am using the 955 ee and it only works with bios 308 and you have to start the board with a older chip or no post just to flash bios. then hope it post with new chip. when ocing the bios will lock and not post so you have to clear cmos. pisses me off cause this chip is good for like 5ghz with my setup or should be with a working board. jumper then battery then jumper the battery. sucks with two video cards in there after like the 20th time. they will get this board figured out but with time. also looks like the a8n32 or the amd version is a basket of snakes too. so if you want 16x sli eather wait or they the ONLY two boards that have 16x sli. lots of good 8xsli boards p5nd2sli deluxe is what my old board is. ran a 840 not ee at 3.9ish all day on water and scored 10,000+ 3d05.

Performance of the 16x PCI-E's really arent what they are cracked up to be...minimal gains at best, and if you're throwing in SLi you really wont notice the difference.

I would wait onthe Dual 16x (SLi-II, so they call it) to start kicking the pants out of the 8x before you make the jump. Stick with the 8x.

I do agree with Omri that an Intel with SLi can be done but it's asking for problems since Intel Chipsets probably do not have as good of drivers as lets say nVidia's nForce for SLI (I wonder why). Yes it does suck but it can still be done I jsut dont know of what issues you might have with it, if any. I think it's better to just do an AMD/nVidia setup for SLI

pw5d2 / premium / -e (-e version has intel 975x chipset)

best oc, crossfire support, etc

only downside maybe one ide port, you'd probably be running raid on these ones though
