Cheers! Should be fun. Don't have any way to check the dba, but I think my ears will thank me for silencing the screaming deltas I've installed in the case right now.
ya those deltas are noisy as hell, thats why i use nidec fans, but when you get high flow fans noise becomes a whole different game.... im not gonna get into it but ya, good luck

see ya round, Basil

Actually I found the best stuff is cutting up a rubber bike inertube. It's very easy to cut and is non conductive...

So how are you using the tubes? Are you just cutting little donuts for where the fan meets the case for the screws to go in? Or cutting larger pieces to wrap the entire fan?

Too late now. Got myself a ridiculous amount of Dynamat Xtreme for not a lot of money. Friend of mine works for a car audio workshop... I think it might be a bit overkill, since I seem to have enough to cover up a whole car door. The stuff rated for cars seems to be exactly the same stuff they sell on websites for casings, so I guess I'm on the right track.
One question though... Guides online mention that not too much Dynamat is really required for noise reduction to be effective. Is this true? At the moment, I have enough Dynamat to completely cover the inside of both case doors and line the top, front and bottom of the case. (Its a U frame construction.) The question is... If I can do a thing, does that necessarily mean I should?

I use two 120mm silicone gaskets and one 80mm silcione gasket on my case. they significantly quieted down the fans, not just through vibration dampening, but I believe they also minimize the noise from air passing through grills/screens because they space the fan a 1/8" off the grill/screen. There seems to be less "wind" noise at the grill.

Where do you get these gaskets? Didn't see any at Home Depot... What is the official name of these? Or what are they made for?

Thanks!
