Wierd voltage on a oc'd X2 4800?

Thread Starter
Hey guys,

I'm OC'ing my x2 4800 right now to 2520 mhz on a 210 x12 multi (2400 stock, 200 x12 multi), but I'm doing this at 1.35v (1.328v from CPU-Z, 1.35 from BIOS)? My temps at load are 45C... Are these numbers rational? I know I can go higher, but this is just from 10 minutes worth of work, so I'm pretty pleased right now, save for with the temps. I'm running on air, but still...

The temps a little high, but you're alright below 50* C for the load temp. The voltage is fine, you up it when you run into a wall pushing up the FSB.

Such was my understanding, but I just wanted to check. Any way to get those temps down right now or do I have to wait the weekend to get my WC setup delivered?

If you've got a spare fan laying around, you could ghetto-rig it to hang and point at the CPU...

I wish I could afford watercooling... and a x2 4800...

I'm lucky enough to have a fiance who games- she understands my need for PC equipment. Hell, her rig cost more than mine!

This, I am entirely aware of.

On a more on-topic note, my temps should be lower than they are, even on air, for just a 120mhz overclock. Now, I didn't adjust my HT frequency- I read on another post that this equation is the most desirable? FSBxHT=1000? Is this accurate? The HT being included in the chipset now, as well as my relatively high multi, could perhaps be the culprit of a relatively light OC being high temp'ed?

Relatively certain. It was running at 30c idle 37c fully loaded at stock on a Big Typhoon... I might have to reseat it or something- I'll do that when my WC gets here, I guess. Makes the most sense.
