To run two instances of prime, what you do is set your prime folder in the C drive. Start -> run -> type in cmd and press enter
enter cd.. until you get to C:> Then type in cd "File_Name_Here" without the quotes (and by file name I mean the folder that prime is in. then run up one Prime by double clicking the icon then go back to the command prompt and type in PRIME95.exe -A1....thats it, two things of prime are now up for a dual core test. I did a little more testing and I decided I didn't want to run my $300 processor on 1.6v so I slowed it back down to 250x10=2.5Ghz 1:1. I figured the dual core processor would like a little extra memory bandwidth. This raised my memory freq from 133 Mhz to 150 Mhz. It could run hours of prime95 but wouldn't pass a 1 M SuperPi... I'll do a little more work (since I now know where my memory can run) So I this is where I'm at:

How in the heck did you get memtest for windows itself!!! I want me some memtests plz!!! I wish I had the time to overclock my CPU/ram. all I am Ocing is the graphics, and right now all I have done was set it to the "optimum" overl****. But yeh, I need to know where to get that mem-test for windows!

I ran all of this at once for quite a while to ensure stability. I've discovered a stability problem, though... If I watch any movie (using Winamp, Media Player Classic, WMP10, DivX Player, or PowerDVD) I get a BSOD. I'm pretty sure it's not my memory, processor, or video card... I can play games for hours, just not watch movies. What the heck do I look for?

Changed memory timings a little and bumped it up to 260x10=2600 Mhz 1:1. I ran memtest through over 200% while ATITool and two instances of Prime95 were running. Here's a screen shot:

I got a copy of windows xp X64bit, but i am hesitating on installing it... from your experience, from games and programs you ran on it, is it the same experience, better or worse if i try to run 32 bit applications on it?

And by the way, would i need to format my harddrive before i could install it...?

There's only very few apps that won't work on x64. Doom 3 will need to be manually installed, but that's the only thing I've found so far. The AMD64 patch for Farcry is amazing. HL2 runs quite a bit better, also. I run both at 1280x1024 max everything, 4xAA and 4xAF. On Far Cry no AA, because HDR is enabled. Performance for software that's actually written for 64-bit runs much faster. This is with a 6600gt. It also seems a bit more stable than 32-bit XP. The only downfall is you have to make sure you've got drivers for all of your hardware before installing. It's hard to find drivers for stuff like cameras, printers, etc.

I've heard of people setting up dual-boot for both OS's, but I've got no experience with that. No 32-bit drivers will work for 64-bit OS. If you'll be installing on a RAID array, you'll need to make a driver disk from scratch (can be a bit tough, but I've got one made for nF4 if you really need it. All in all I'd say it's not too bad, as long as you've got drivers.

I appreciate the information, this is all I needed to know. as soon as i get my sata hard drive i will boot up X64 after I format it, it's just that right now I've got some important Animes on my HD i need to backup. I Have drivers for all hardware I run but most of those drivers are desigend for 32 bit.

I'll probably have to get 64 bit drivers for each equipment then...

Yeah, you'll have to get all new drivers. Make sure they're available before you install.
