When recharging mp3 player via usb, it keeps turning on/off

I have a sansa clip 2.0gig mp3 player. Whenever i charge it via the USB port it would read it and start charging, then it would turn off and start charging. I would hear the sound you hear when you plug in usb device, then the sound you hear when you remove it.

What could be the problem?

I have a gigabyte 890gpa-ud3h motherboard. The motherboard is usb 2.0/3.0 compatible and the mp3 player is usb 2.0 compatible.

oh, I have one and it also shows it turning off/on while its charging, but my pc doesn't make disconnecting sounds and I can also access it fine.

Have you tried updating its firmware?

It would turn off and start charging?

You mean it would "log off" from the GUI and charge from a dormant mode?

No idea what's wrong, but I wouldn't be surprised if it's a loose wire. Either a loose battery wire or something else.

yes, the GUI would shut down, then reappear on my computer screen. When this happens I check the screen on the mp3 player and it looks like it still charges during the reset.
