Bad OCZ Platinum?

Thread Starter
I just got my 2 x 1GB kit of OCZ Platinum DDR400.
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...C-pr1c3grabb3r

However, I put it in and the machine turns on but nothing happens. Usually the mobo beeps and then posts, but not this time, just turns on and nothing on the monitor. So I put my old kit back in and it boots up right away. So then I tried each new stick individually and with each stick the mobo kind of gave a kind of weaker beep, sometimes a double beep, but still nothing on the monitor. I'm going from a 2 x 512 kit of OCZ to this kit, is there something I'm missing or are they DOA?

If they are DOA I need some suggestions for a different 2 x 1GB kit with nice timings. I became concerned about these sticks when I noticed that the stickers on each spelled dual incorrectly, spelling it "daul". Me thinks there's something fishy with the new Plats. Appreciate the help.

Um, you need to reset your CMOS, that should fix it.

Yeha most likely if your CPU is OC'd it wont run, you definately need to start it out at DDR400 with a 200MHz Core Clock and OC again.

Keep in mind you'll only be able to get a 234MHz clock with at best CAS 2.5 and a 243MHz with CAS 3

Right now I have mine running 243.3MHz @ 3-3-3-5 1T with a 333MHz Divider

but you're also using 2x512MB sticks, 2x1GB sticks really aren't the greatest of Overclockers and actually these sticks have one of the best timings for a 2x1GB set at stock timings

I can run it 234MHz at 2.5-3-3-5 1T but my CPU speed isn't as high, but I need to knock it down and try the EVEREST read to see how it compares.

pbasil, run EVEREST (dl it if you need to and post what your RAM read and write is, i'm curiosu to know)
