Great publicity move by EVGA since they are stamping out these parts en masse anyway. They could have easily charged for it and still got a ton of orders though.

I will be definitely looking at another EVGA card when I upgrade.

P.S. I don't break 75'c in furmark while OC'd. Potentially dropping to the 60s will be awesome, 3 cheers for eVGA
Do not get me wrong, I'm extremely impressed by the fermi line, I'm getting GTX480 as soon as I've sold my HD5850 since the GTX is great folder. I give eVGA kudos for giving the plates, wish all the manufactures would do the same, but this kinda spanks this theory.

And can GTX users expect to lower their power consumption by few W since reports like this one have been published. http://www.guru3d.com/article/geforc...r-den-review/9
- Or was it just lower because the fan had been removed?

I think it is an awesome move on their part. (pun intended)
The only 2 ways it would be better would be if Nvidia did it instead of EVGA so that it would include all Fermi owners instead of just EVGA Fermi owners, or if they shipped it for free.

Also does this mean that all future productions of the EVGA Fermi cards will already have the backplate and endplates installed?

And people wonder why I'm an EVGA fanboi...

I've had nothing but pure win from EVGA from everything I've ordered or installed, and moves like this keep me coming back.

Now just hurry up with the Classified3!!

Oh man those back plates look awesome.

Is there anyone who won't be needing his/hers i.e using watercooling or the likes and won't be needing it?
I'm willing to pay shipping and handling to me.

If only other manufacturers did this also.

My e-mail to EVGA about getting these....

Thank you for contacting the EVGA Customer Service Team.

My name is Dave Biel and I will be answering your question today.

Question (6/4/2010 8:11:32 AM): i was wanting to get the new airflow brackts and backplates for my 2 evga gtx470's, what do i need to do to get those sent to me?

Answered By Dave B (6/4/2010 9:47:01 AM): Hello,
we currently do not have those available seperately. I apologize for the inconvenience.

Pretty cut and dry, probably have to wait some time...

Would this help my water cooled card at all?

It is under a heavy OC and running F@H 24/7
With a room temperature of up to 100ºF, it usually stays under 60º C

I might just put it on for the sweet looks of it
