PRIME95-help

So, I finally got my system up and running fully. Its all conected to the internet and everything!!!! Well, now I ran prime last night for like 6 hours and had no problems. I got up this morning, stopped it, then started two of them at the same time for a dual core setup. This WONT kill my computer will it. If my CPU gets too hot or somthing starts going wrong it will turn itself off right? Because I really don't feel like comming home to a burnt comp.

Also, what program should I use to read the temps on my CPU/ram n stuff. I know I am going to be told everrest, but I couldn't figure out in the five minutes I had to check it out before work, how to get the damn thing to work. Any ideas

Thanks

u can use the everest (will take a short while to figure it out) or even the Asus probe which came with ur mobo. it wont be so accurate but u can use it. as for the cpu burning, u can set a temp shutdown. check out z_one's FAQ on how to do it in the FAQ section.

SpeedFan seems to be pritty accurate on temps, doesnt require any setup. You could try that.

Running 2 programs of p95 won't kill your system.Alot of people do that with single core processors to check there load temps. If i had a screen of mine doing it i would show you.

Thanks guys. I just want to make sure that prime would not do anything. It seemed the air comming out the back of my machine was decently cold this morning, but the 7800GT was running at 43 *C so, I hope the processor aint anywhere near that. I don't think it is, and I bet that that BT is keeping that chip cool, but just want to make sure. Tried calling home to get one of my siblings to check it out really quick, yeh, they didn't like that idea so...i guess I'll wait and see
