WOW lag issues.

back again ... with more problems. i have been playing wow for like 4 months. i know all their servers are currently experiencing some sort of problem. but mine in particular doesn't seem to relate to the server. i'm getting lag .... bad. i've checked every aspect of my internet connection and everything is fine. its only the game that lags. i'm wondering if i need to reinstall windows to correct this or not. i'm thinking its most likely my pc since after a couple hours of play it takes sometimes up to 5 minutes to recover and my internal cpu/ram/mb bandwidth has dropped by over 300MBPS it used to pass 5680 mb/s data now according to benchies its passing 5340MB/s i've also just recovered from a massive virus attack. using limewire got my hands on 13000 viruses which i caught before restarting. i'm just wondering if the reinstall would be the best option or if something else would cause it.

Well if you have any programs open or you are downloading anything that makes alot of lag. Also, internet connection has alot to do with where you live. Re-installing windows is always an option and can sometimes do the trick but im sure there is something else that you can do.

no programs that use internet connection are open. even turned off msn msgr to try and speed it up. i'm just wondering would heating problems cause lag?

I can't guarantee it, but if you've had that many viruses chances are if you haven't already formatted you still have some. It's time to format that hard drive and reinstall windows. You need a nice clean and a defrag, if that's not the problem, then we'll start talking hardware/software.

You have a legal copy of windows? And none of your software is illegal or if it is, you know it is from a legit source. I am not saying use pirated, I'm saying it should not be used if you're using it. A quarter of the software off limewire includes viruses.

i'm using a backed up copy of windows with my original cd key since i ended up destroying my windows disk. i don't use much copied software .... mostly music and movies from limewire ... since for some reason i can't use direct connect or torrents.
