Your right about that. But he did expect his fellow intel enthusiasts to know what the heck he was talking about.

I guess he should have also kept in mind that we wouldnt be fooled by bs air cooling temps

What's your ambient temp? I'm very impressed with 11c idle. How about load temps on both? What exactly is your cooling setup?
what he said.
sorry i was excited, not so anymore. i am using a swiftech pump with 1/2in hose to a polor flo tt cpu and two gpu blocks going to a blackice extreme 3x120mm to a 500cc tank. the rad is cooled using three fans rated at 125cfm. all turned up it quite loud to say the least. ok i got that temp at night with a hose in to window going to the three fans on the rad. it was 28f outside that night, kinda warm for this time a year but ill work with it. right NOW it is 70f in side the room no hose this time, pc probe says 16c at idel and 25 at 100% load.

So....what you MEANT was that 65nm cores are cooler than 90nm cores.....................if you're running a water cooling rig with several hundred dollars of equipment......AND piping in outside air that is below freezing (you said 28f outside air, assuming you switched measuring scales on purpose and didn;t mean 28c outside air)

Either way......with those facts, I'm not suprised it's so cool.......

why mess around with a 120 buck kit when i got 2500 in hardware and hours of installing
still ALOT cooler then my "intel Pentium D 840 (NOT the EE)" (for the easily confused) one the same board. all i did was take out the old chip and put in the new one. the 840 was running at 30c at idel and about 40-44c load. thats a damn good drop if you ask me.

That makes a whole lot more sence. Im not having any trouble believing your temps, as Ive got 20c load with an air duct running outside with a big typhoon, and an outside temp of 33f.

haha..............that explains it. Why didn't you say you were watercooled when the first guy made a comment about these temps being unreal?

LOL. Same here. That is the only reason (besides me being an unemployed 15 yr old ) i have kept my CRT monitor for so long. My room hit 49C once...My mum came in and said was crazy. My computer must have hated me. Hehehe
