Did you pick up a CPU without unlockable cores? Because they state that rev 5.0 and 5.1 don't have Bio-unlocking

I'm getting my TA890FXE in a few hours. What would be the memory for this board? I'll be using my A-data in the meanwhile and it'll return to my GXE after

I believe favoritism is wrong and it's not right to show one rig and neglect my other babies

Yay finally official!

Needed some cash, so swapped my 1100T out for a 1055T. It's a chip from the launch batch, 1011. Let's see how far I can take it.

well got the rig together (finally). it's looking like medusa with wires everywhere but i am taking things in and out of the rig so it's a mess:

i have 3 phenom II 555s in my room... and NONE of them unlocked extra cores... gosh damn. ***. so i have 3 dual cores. not the end of the world but i cried a little that night.

right now i don't even have the heatsink (212+ hyper) bolted down, it's just sitting with gravity on the cpu. but this thing is cool as ice @ 4.2ghz which is pretty impressive to me. voltage is 1.428 and temperature is 29C with both cores at 100% stress with prime 95. this thing is stable under prime95.

my set up:

biostar ta890fxe
cooler master hyper 212+
555 BE (on 2 cores)
GTX 460 768mb
corsair 650tx
mushkin silverline 1333 (place holder)
samsung F3 1tb
windows 7 64 professional

impressed with how the 2 cores of the 555 are doing, but saddened by it not unlocking. yin and yang. i will post stepping numbers of all 3 processors later tonight.

CACAC AC 1041EPMW: 2 cores
CACDC AC 10528PM: 2 cores
CACDC AC 10528pM: 2 cores

How are you going about unlocking? I'm setting core control to manual under cpu settings then core unlocker to enabled in the T menu. And hitting f4 or what ever on startup, can't do it any other way.

Ok, did anyone figure out the cpu speed bug or does anyone else have it?

Ever since I flashed to bios 89FADA11 BS (10/11/10) my cpu will not step
down in speed like it ought when it is idle. I am not overclocking at all
right now and I see no need to run the thing full bore, wasting more elec.
and heat for the fun of it. Why did this bios update break this? I have
tried emailing biostar twice now with no response. I guess the only way
I will get it back is to flash to a older bios? that seems stupid to have to
do that for something so simple. I even have a diff cpu than I did before
now I have a 965 black edition, before I had a 945 both cpus do this so
it is def. not the cpu.
