Performance wise I'd think the Coolit ECO A.L.C is a bit better then the Corsair H50, but if it's free smile.gif

I too have heard that the Eco alc is a better cooler. But I've also heard it tends to leak after a while. And I can't argue with free in my hands. Gonna start mounting it Now. Will post results in a bit.

I do have a question... doesn't matter how I set the memory ganged or unganged it only shows up as single channel in cpu-z. Have tried both white and red ram slots, and also tried different memory sticks.

Any theories?

I just installed the Biostar 890fxe and it says the temperature of the board is between 57 and 60 degrees C. Is this too high for stock settings? This was the same temps as my 790. Im having many problems with it right now such as the display driver rebooting constantly.

The Bio-unlocking makes it where the computer wont post until I hit the reset button after a few seconds. That's probably just the 4th core not being stable or me not doing something right so its not that big of a deal. The temperature is the most concerning.

I bought this because I thought the overclocking abilities would be much greater than the 790 but unless I can get it to the right settings its going to perform much worse.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Edit: Also I know you had to disable the Cool and Quiet feature in the 790 BIOS, is there a feature I must disable the same way on this board?

Yeah, the temps are a bug. I think C1E is the cool and quiet feature.

The sysem temp does say 29 in thie BIOS. But even in CPUID Hardware Monitor it says mainboard is still around 60. The THRM is 30 and TMPIN2 is at 30. Are one of those temps the system temps and the mainboard is something else?

that's your cpu socket temp

mainboard temp is mainboard temp... already said it's bugged, no need to worry about it

Was still having the freezing issue so I disabled the pps states to see if it'd fix it. Any clue as to why it could be messing up when I have it overclocked at settings that were stable on the 790?
