Last minute gaming build check

Thread Starter
So after several months of research my gaming build list is just about finished and I plan on ordering over the upcoming two weeks so I thought I would try and get some last minute feedback.

1055t + crosshair iv
http://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboD...t=Combo.405952
955be c3 + crosshair iv
http://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboD...t=Combo.405951
leaning more towards the 1055t because I want a fairly certain 4.0oc for 24/7 use as well as future proofness but the 955 can prolly get around 4.0 and is cheaper.

Psu corsair 850hx already bought

Cooler h50 already bought
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...=Corsair%20h50
Gpu asus 5970
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...pk=Asus%205970
at first I was gonna go 5870 but then I decided I wanted to trifire later plus withthe 5970 won't have to worry about anything for most games.

Mem ridgeback 1600*

can't decide both reviews are good for amd but leaning towards redlines because they are cheaper
Case

Only get the 1055T for epeen purposes, in some cases the X4 performs better in games, which rarely use all four cores.

hmmm, seems like a solid build, but, two 5870s do outperform a 5970. also, i don't know is this is true for crossfire, but i think if you through in the 3rd 5870 later down the road, it'll just clock itself to the same speeds as the 5970. someone please clarify that point. i would suggest not going anymore then 2 gpus. the performance in the scaling is not worth the cash. also, how about spending that on getting good sound?

also, like the above poster said, 6 cores doesn't offer improvement over less cores for gaming purposes. if you plan on doing photoediting, video encoding/decoding, etc, then you'll get use of the extra cores. however, true dx11 games do offer support for more then 2 cores.

your psu seems fine. i'm pretty sure it is a pretty good one.

cheers and gl with the build. what are you upgrading from?

Domino: You should change your title to audiophile

On the CPU, I believe the more cores you have, the hotter it will run. Get some good cooling on that bad boy.
