Possible 4.1 Surround setup? (I'm skipping a center)

So, I was looking at getting a sound system, and I was wondering what you guys thought of the parts I put together:

Speakers (4 of these):
Polk audio M70 ($170 each)

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...-015-_-Product

Sub:
Polk PSW110 ($180)

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...-036-_-Product

Amp/Reciever:
YAMAHA 5.1-Channel Digital Home Theater Receiver RX-V367 ($230)

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16882115238

Possible Center:
Polk CS2
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16882290024&cm_re=cs2-_-82-290-024-_-Product

So, what do you think? This'll be going for my relatively small computer room, but I'm looking for something that'll be great quality, have some volume and scalability (for when I change rooms). I also wanted floor standing speakers...

I saw some of the stickied guides on suggested speakers... but I didn't know what to think, so I decided to post what I was looking at getting.

You really should get a center. It's the most important speaker IMO.

It would probaly help if u could link a site where the product you are considering buying is, this way people could ck out the specifications and leave you a comment. Instead of having to google all the pieces you are looking at and then come back and leave you a comment. Just makes it a little "convenient".

Speakers (4 of these):
Polk audio M70 ($170 each)

http://www.amazon.com/Polk-Audio-Mon.../ref=de_a_smtd

Sub:
Polk PSW110

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...=Polk%20PSW110

Amp/Reciever:
YAMAHA 5.1-Channel Digital Home Theater Receiver RX-V367

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...iver%20RX-V367

Anyway.... the components you have selected seem exceptional... I'm just not sure how not having a center speaker will effect your experience. But ou could always buy a center channel speaker if you decide that a 4.1 set up is not suffient for you. G/L

I'd suggest saving more money and buying a better receiver. While that one's not bad, you can really get a huge performance increase if you were to spend say 200 more dollars.

True, I could have easily done that since I made a document outta this when I was pricing it with each link. It woulda been a copy and paste. Sorry about that.

What would be a better receiver then? And what kind of benefits will I see as a result of spending the 200 more? And, would it be better to possibly find just an Audio receiver? I obviously don't need the video part for my sound system...

For voices yes... but with my pc setup, a speaker isn't the most viable option... I could mount it on the wall in front of me, but I was just leaning away from it. I could get the cs2...

Actually, after doing a lot of looking, how would it work if I got an x-fi Prelude, and then amped the signal from that to each of the speakers? Because this way, I could have a better quality decoding and higher control through a high quality sound card. I hope it wouldn't be like amping a lossy signal though...

What would be a good amp for doing this? It basically needs to pass the signal through...

I believe a receiver will always give you better quality than a sound card. (unless it's a really bad receiver).

Is this thread old? I vaguely remember posting in this thread. Onkyo is a pretty good receiver imo.

I know Windows 7 lets you do it. If you were building a HTPC... Its called it quadraphonic, that might help you narrow down your search. But, I would think about a 5.1 setup.
