Best way to test GPUs?

Hi guys,
My uncle has a system with SLi 7600GT's and he thinks one is acting up. What would be the best way to test them and figure out which one is causing him problems?

Yes, I know the 7600's are old as, but that's what he's got to roll with.

Thanks,

Will that test both at the same time? Or will I need to remove one, test it, then swap it for the other one?

Furmark has a stability test feature on it, i would recommend to run it for 10 minutes, as Furmark itself is FAR more punishing than any games out there, even Metro 2033.

Acting up how? That might help direct you to a solution. As mentioned,Furmark and MSI's kombuster will reveal artifacting. If you have both enabled it will test both...etc.

Well it depends. What do you mean by acting up. You can probably figure it out rather quickly by analyzing the symptoms. I would start by first removing the sli configuration and trying each card individually. You can stress test them each by using various stress testing software such as Furmark or MSI kombustor. If you crash, bsod or artifact on either of them, then you found the culprit . Good luck!

Not sure as I haven't used it for a while. From what he's said there just seems to be a lot of 'video and graphics lag'. Not 100% sure wether his problem is graphics related though.

first remove the second gpu... to test the first, THEN
remove the primary, put the secondary in it's place too test that one...

with furmark and or occt stress test..

Honestly it is probably a combo of the cards getting old, and or possibly dirty with degrading thermal material between the heatsinks.... If your uncle isnt comfortable tearing the cards apart too replace the thermal material and clean them, then it's time too upgrade

and hey can you even sli the 7600's??? I thought only 7900's could be SLi'd.....

Will give that a shot later on. I don't really feel comfortable ripping apart someone else's cards, since I've never taken one apart.

And I'd assume you can SLi them, are they are SLi'd haha
