The multiplyer is only Default and downwards... hence the slang 1/2 locked!

BTW... who is the manufacturer of the MB?

I realise the multiplier is only downwards but thats all i need it for anyway, its like my bios is hiding things from me. Sapphire made my mobo.

I had a look at the manuals and they do not list the CPU settings only Mem settings... so there must be a hot key to jump into the CPU BIOS menu. When in the BIOS screens try CTRL-F1 or F11/F12 to see if this jumps in. Otherwise you will not get the control you need.

Don't worry, all this OCing takes time and A LOT of patience. I think my memory failed between 230-240, I forget the exact #, however you can always change the bandwidth of your memory to something less than 400, mine goes from 400 to 333, in other words place divider. Set the HTT @ X3 or X4, not exceeding 1000 (800 on some boards) w/ the FSB, FSB x HTT < 1000 (ie. 3 X 300 (just an example), 4 X 230). I had mine up pass 2.6GHz, but I chickened out and reduced it back down to 2.49, ran some memtest and passed 3 times, now I gotta run some others to make sure it's stable before I go any farther. Increase the voltage on the Vdimm or CPU and play around a little bit.

I'm new at this myself, but I'm learning a lot ... I hope my wife keeps the chain saw in the garage, I know she wants to use it on my puter.

Good luck!

yeah .. when overclocking you normally want a good mother board... like one that doesnt have onboard video cause that means that its a micro atx... anyways. your bios wont be as good as ones like the asus a8n sli or an abit an8 ...

i got myself an abit an8 ultra and i can overclock my processor from my desktop becuase of the guru. its nice to have and displays all my temperatures and if by any chance the overclock wasnt stable. the computer will restart and the program will drop it down to default clock without harming the processor.. so far i hit 2.7 ghz and then it restarted... oh well ill keep trying.. but this is all on air cooled. right now at 2.4 my comp idles at 26 celcius and goes up to 35 when playing games.

but the reason why you cant find the multiplier is becuase of the mother board.. if those bios arent from the high end boards then you wont find alot of options

uhhh....well...i don't think there are any. You could try the DFI board, but Crossfire and the Crossfire chipset are lacking.
