nVIDIA reference GeForce GTX 480 Mods - Page 3

I have new stuff guys

No need to hardmod anything for GPU Core OCP/OVP removal

Just flash the CHL8266 firmware with the modified version I supply you with.

FIRST POST UPDATED AS WELL, INCLUDING A SUMMARY ON WHAT YOU NEED TO DO TO HAVE A Xtreme OC WARFARE GTX 480 ( LN2 ).

You can disable OCP via software ( flash the CHL8266 controller with a modified firmware which disables OVP & OCP ) [ you still need to do the MEM OCP mod, this disables the OCP for the GPU core only ].
No need to run GPU-z and co, just flash the CHL8266 once and you're done forever

You'll find the necessary files and instructions in the linked RAR archive file:

CHiL 8266 Disabled OCP Firmware - Download from BenchZone
CHiL 8266 Disabled OCP Firmware - Download from RapidShare

Updated the first post too.

Nice! More to the list

@ BZ- Andre said the mem OCP wasnt needed for optimal results..and that mem range should be kept within ~1.68-1.72v

..From what I have seen/read- adjusting mem voltage is more about keeping them from CB than anything..Just curious if you have experienced that or not yourself.

**note- I found this-> which looks like it could prove very useful for keeping caps and mem at the 'right' temps too http://www.reptilebasics.com/flexwatt-heat-tape/

Sup,

Sorry for the delayed response.
The mem OCP mod is sometimes needed, most times not though.
The mems benefit from a very small voltage raise ( MHz-wise ), but more voltage helps keeping them warmer to avoid memory cold bugging.
If you bench the card without any insulation other than a very short armaflex stripe around the GPU core, you won't have any temp related issues ( of course to do that you need to insulate the card perfectly with lots of plastic/conformal spray ).

I'll be back soon

Forced 3D Performance mode state BIOS to avoid the annoying 2D -> high 3D clocks apply bug and the "2D mode" CB ( Cold Bug ) [ some cards artifact when going colder than a certain temperature when idling at desktop ( 2D perf mode ) ]

BIOS includes the CSB ( Cold Slow Bug ) fix of course.

Created and tested by me today on LN2.

Enjoy!

Download the BIOS file from RapidShare
