Help with a 3500+ ^_^

Thread Starter
so I have an athlon 64 3500+ (2.2ghz stock) I cant seem to be able to push it up passed 2.47Ghz, the computer just jams up upon restart and doesnt load XP. The vcore is on standard 1.45v and the HTT is multiplied by 11 which equals 2.475 mhz (2.47ghz) i was wondering what I can do to be able to push the cpu up passed a miserable 2.47ghz. I have an extremely good cooling system and a huge fan too (antec sonata 2 case) here is what it looks like.

Trying lower your HTT Multi to 3x. Can you post you full system specs in regards to memory and other controllers? This would most definitely help!

Yeah, lower your HTT. That should help. Also, change the V.Core voltage, doing that will definately help you out.

Have you tried upping your Vcore yet. That could be holding you back. You also might want to try running a memory divider. If you have it set a ddr400 or 1:1 try ddr333. That should help with the overclock.

Im not too sure, Ive never used an MSI board before. What type of BIOS do you have? That seems quite odd that the VCore voltage wont go past 1.45, but then again Ive never used an MSI before. As far as the memory divider, look someplace in the cpu memory controller. Since the memory controller is located on the cpu itself rather than the mobo, it should be under one of the CPU settings. There will most likely be 4 or 5 options ranging from ddr400,ddr333,ddr266 and lastly ddr-200. Also, can you take a screenshot from the memory tab in CPU-Z?

i havent seen anything in the options remotely close to ddr400,ddr333,ddr266 or anything like that related to the memory, kind of odd. maybe i wasnt paying attention. im sure its there but it doesnt say that its a memory divider or ddr for that matter, let me go take a few bios screenshots, be back in a sec
