2x 4-pin Molex to PCI-E power on a HD 5750/5770?

Thread Starter
Would it be possible to run one of these to power a HD 5750 or a HD 5770 on a 500W mid-quality PSU? (The one shipped with THIS case to be exact) The PSU should be powerful enough, but I dunno how the power is balanced on the different rails.

I think it's mainly adviced to not do this, but as the PSU is in lack of a 6-pin PCI-E power connector, it's either this or a new PSU.

Edit: Hmm, seems fairly safe. Some cards are even shipped with one of these adapters it seems:

If you dont have any PCI-E cables then use those adapters. They work well enough to not screw your GPU. Maybe not as good as directly from the PSU but better than nothing ;D

Well yes, but I'd rather use one of these instead of buying a new PSU.

Thanks guys.
