DFI 790FXB-M3H5 Volatge problems

Thread Starter
I want to set the core voltage of my phenom II 955 X4 c2 at 1.3v for stock speeds, but I cant find the options in the BIOS of my motherboard (790fxb-m3h5) and CPUID says that I have 1.44-1.5 core voltage which is big...
I appreciate any help.

Look for 'CPU VID Special Add'

That's what is used on DFI's to adjust voltage.

I know about that but the problem is that under the menu of CPU VID special add has very limited options if I remeber correctly: 200, 175, 150, 125, 100, 75, 50 ,25 and then auto. Even if I choose the smallest one 25 the core voltage is 1.44 on cpuid and on the bios.

Use the +/- keys on the keyboard and you should be able to go lower on the voltage IIRC.

Yea look at that link. Keep going lower. You can add up to -800 mV, so assuming around 1.4v is stock, I would try to set it around -100 mV.

If you have LLC enabled turn it off and you should see a drop in VCore. However if you don't have the option for LLC (or it turned off already) then you are seeing the VCore based off your CPU's VID, which can be check using coretemp.

Edit: and like he said ^^ see if it can do negative.

I know it can do negative .

LLC is not a specification of AMD. DFI boards do not have this option.

Yep it can do negative, I set it to -75 and the core voltage is 1.264v @ stock speeds (3.2) + rep and thanks. Another question now is, With 1.3-1.35V how high can I set the multiplier for something stable?

1.35v I would guess you might get somewhere around 3.6ghz so that would be an 18 multi.

Of course every chip is different so you will have to see for yourself.

With 1.264-1.27 I got to 3.4 idle temp 32c and I played a light game for 1 hour and the temps maxed at 37 though wow isnt a heavy game so I will try to play bad company at this settings to see how it goes, and then try to get to 3.6 with 1.33v
