Just got my new Vertex LE and flashed it to 1.10! Here's some atto marks for those curious of the different hard drives..

Pretty much on par with EduardV's findings, and having first experienced the taste of SSD-dom, this is..outstanding..

Nice score man, expect a slight decrease in performance since SSD go to a Settled in state.

your scores should reach mine after 2 months of use.

Seems you have that well configured, are u using intel RST 9.6 in AHCI ?

Nope, I'm running AHCI with stock drivers, no content indexing, no virtual memory. I'll see what RST is about, and maybe report back on more positive results.

Update: Looks like Intel RST improved my reads and pulled back a bit on the writes. But..nevertheless at least I have more interest in SSDs and will continue buying OCZ. Mind you though, my first Vertex LE was a DOA, I think capping the entire SSD in one fell swoop wasn't too good for it ><;

Firmware 1.10 release notes is out!

New products supported under 1.10

Vertex2 Pro, Vertex2 EX, and Agility2 EX

Changes/additions since 1.00 (1.05 Vertex LE)

• Merged version numbering to avoid confusion in the field
• Workaround implemented for Windows 7 TRIM issue using Microsoft drivers
• Added Support for 512GB raw capacity (400/480 usable)
• Added Support for reduced over provisioning (OCZSSD-2VTXE, OCZSSD-2AGTE) configurations for 60/120/240/480 usable capacities.
• Added SMART attribute 177 (Wear Range Delta)
• Do not panic on SATA interface errors

Issues resolved since version 1.00 (1.05 Vertex LE)

• Fixed an issue where a non-data command could wake the drive, when it was really supposed to go back to sleep state.
• Resolved distinct corner case issues which would cause drives to enter panic state and become undetectable
• Fixed calculation of SMART uncorrectable sector counts which caused some 3rd party SMART tools to show an issue
• Fixed default reporting of temperature to no longer report 128C, and now report 25C if no temperature has been read yet (e.g. following power on) which caused some 3rd party SMART tools to show an issue
• Fixed timing issue after COMWAKE to comply with SATA protocol
• Fixed Read Error Rate threshold until data is collected which caused some 3rd party SMART tools to show an issue
• Fixed occasional drive locking if SATA was disconnected and power then removed
• Slight improvement to wear leveling efficiency
• Resolved corner case issue where drive could rarely fail to wake during power cycling with very short and rapid power cycles
• Improved flash error handling
• Improved handling of SATA events during power up sequence

You cannot use OCZ firmware on Mushkin Callisto SSD. Moderators at Mushkin forum says they will have firmware out soon and rest of Sandforce SSD should soon too
