Yea i5-750 is fastest in single threads in all the millions of benchmarks I looked at. Also is a decent price point.

It seems to fit all the criteria specified by kitt3.
I think it fits his budget, but you can't let a person you don't know decide something for you (that's why we hear a polititian's ideas before voting, we don't vote based on how cool he looks, or his name).
so, I think kitt3 should make some research for himself, and buy something that meets your needs.

if he is lazy, VW_TDI_02's suggestion will do it
the amd system is also good, but the i5-750 will peform much better.

about the first post, not necessarily, also not necessarily about +rep....
they really just DO NOT think before saying stuff.. I bet that what they say (like the guy that recommended an AMD x6) doesn't even make sense to themselfes - if 3 years from now he comes back here and read what he said (LOL)

opnions,thoughts != facts,knowledge

tech's are just regular guys that are TRAINED throught experience. they don't really know what are they doing.

if they KNEW what they were doing, they would be called something like "engeneer" and would not work as a simple tech.
that's life, my friend. If you want something done well, do it your self, or pay a LOT for it...

anyways.. I would love to be able to get my hands on your computer and solve whatever is going on
but talking throught the internet wont help, I believe... you need to find somebody who KNOWS or has THE KNACK (youtube this: "the knack dilbert" for some laughts ) or learn all the stuff for your self...
I say this, because there are simply more than 1000 possibilitys for your PC's problem...

btw... newegg ships to cadana? I thought 'twas only for the US! guess I was wrong BUT I never SAID this to somebody asking about newegg, because I WAS NOT SURE!! (A)

hope I helped

To be honest, the the x6 is not a bad choice(if overclocking),however in your case I would recommend saving a little more money and getting a I7-920/930.

I think an i5 750 would be great for you, and someone has already made a you a great cpu, mb and ram combo. Go with that. I love my i5 750 and it won' t disappoint you.

go read the post on REP, according to them it's ok to give rep to someone who has helped you and he said that he would give REP for HELP. I assume he won't give rep if someone is completely useless like you.
