OP: you could easily run 2x 480 on that PSU. If you want 3-way 480's, you WILL need a higher wattage PSU.

Your CPU is indeed fine. The i7 920 is perfectly up to snuff for handling any amount of graphics cards that you have for the near future. Bottlenecking really only occurs in lower end processors like a Pentium 4, being coupled to a graphics card like a 4870x2 and above.

so 3 gtx 480 can't be handle by my PS..it can take 2...got it...i also have another old 450 watts ps made by thermaltake can i connect that to the 3rd card only with the 6 to 4 pin? that should be enough?

The cpu *is* fine, but cpu-bottlenecking (in the technical sense) becomes common with any high-end xfire or sli setup. Even with i7's. It just depends on the test, and the settings at which you run that test.

Anyways, as you can see ... I ordered a couple 480's, came in just under $800 with shipping and tax. Pretty stoked on this deal. Thanks for the heads up!

Looks like the cheap ones are all gone though ...
