You know if you've overclocked too far if you start seeing artifacts in Kombuster.

I'm using msi afterburner and I unlocked the link and just moved the shaders up to 1617mhz, and I'm currently running Kombuster
Artifacts, overheating or driver crash causing your cards clocks to reset to something like 400 core 900 shaders.

How long should I run Kombuster for?
Is an artifact easy to notice? I'm not quite sure what to look for.

Currently been running for 23mins @ 1620mhz, searching google I havent seen any shaders on a gtx260 clocked higher than that. Sitting at 70c.

edit: and clearly good reason Kombuster froze up and the screens when black after about 25mins

If you search artifacts + kombuster you will get a million pics of them, but I don't think you would miss them. I don't remember how many frames I run it for but it takes about 20 minutes.

After OC id recommend to run furmark for 25min. Kombuster doesnt stress the GPU at is full potential. So OC with afterburner, and stress it with furmark.

Kombuster is furmark, isn't it?

Apparently theres no gap between 1584mhz and 1620mhz

On afterburner its set at 1601mhz, but its only running kombuster at 1584mhz, seems stable on those shaders, I'll let it run for a couple hours and see how it goes.

It says furmark down the button of kombuster..

It's a shader strap. http://www.overclock.net/nvidia/4976...er-straps.html I think he meant to say Furmark 1.8 or 1.9 or whatever the newest one is, because (I have no idea about this I'm bnasing this crap on memory from reading crap in threads about fermi) is just a reskin of Furmark 1.7

Weird, I started folding to warm up my room .
Thanks about the straps, I guess I've found my cards shader limit, any way that I could make it to 1620? if I increased the volts/fan speed/ core clock?
